Description

The 6.85m Profisher is the boat you step up to when the weather window stops deciding where you fish. At 7.2 metres overall with a 2.45-metre beam and 1.45 metres of depth, it carries considerably more hull than the 6.25m models, and it uses that extra size where it counts — fuel capacity, deck space, freeboard and the ability to hold a comfortable ride when the afternoon sea breeze kicks in and the trip home turns into work.

Construction

The hull is fully welded plate aluminium with a 6mm bottom, 5mm topsides and a 6mm transom. Dry weight is 1,350kg, which is what gives the boat its manners offshore: it sits down in the water, tracks straight, and drives through a chop rather than getting knocked around by it. The premium package adds foam flotation, putty and spray paint finish, aluminium hatch covers, towing eyes and additional cleats.

Self-draining deck

The 6.85m runs a self-draining system as standard, and on a boat this size it’s the feature that matters most. Water that comes over the gunwale or the transom drains straight back out rather than pooling in the cockpit, which keeps the deck safe underfoot, keeps weight out of the boat and means you’re not relying on the bilge pump to deal with a wet day. If you fish genuinely offshore, this is the specification line to look for.

Fuel and range

The fuel tank holds 325 litres — close to double the capacity of the 6.25m models. That changes what the boat is for. You can run to the shelf, fish a full day and come home without planning the trip around fuel, or work a long stretch of coast without a return leg dictating your schedule. The tank sits in a dedicated compartment alongside the battery shelf, keeping weight low and centred.

Power

The 6.85m is rated for a single outboard from 175hp minimum to 275hp maximum, on a 25-inch or 30-inch transom shaft depending on the engine specified. That’s a meaningful jump over the smaller Profishers and suits the extra hull weight, giving genuine offshore performance rather than a boat working at the top of its range.

Fishing fit-out

A 60-litre fish tank and a 45-litre live bait tank with integrated rod holders come standard — both larger than the 6.25m versions. The boat also carries a cutting board, rod holders down both gunwales, rocket launchers on the hardtop, side storage trays running the length of the cockpit and a transducer mount bracket ready for your sounder. Anti-slip padding on the gunwales gives you something to brace against when a fish runs. Live bait tank pumps are included in the premium package.

Cabin and helm

The hardtop cabin is fitted with a marine driver’s seat and a navigator’s seat, sliding windows for airflow, an electric wiper, LED cabin lighting and a switch control panel at the helm, with an 8-position switch panel included in the premium package. Cushions are standard, and an offshore hatch in the roof lets you work the bow or clear the anchor without leaving the cabin. Handrails run across the hardtop, through the rear cabin and along the bow and stern.

Deck and safety hardware

Standard equipment includes an anchor well with alloy fairlead and roller, mooring cleats, a battery isolation switch, an automatic bilge pump, navigation and mast lights, a rear fold-down seat and a boarding ladder at the transom. Two-tone paint is standard.

Options

The 6.85m can be specified with Seastar hydraulic steering, a 1000W electric anchor winch with chain and warp, electric trim tabs, a washdown pump kit, a marine toilet, a marine compass, a Bluetooth stereo with two speakers, LED and halogen searchlights, LED deck lights, underwater lights, upgraded damping seats, an EVA teak floor, a carpeted cabin, a forward lounge cabin door, a bow thruster mount and a radar holder. Two shade options are available: a standard bimini, or an extended hardtop running all the way back to the deck end. Aluminium and hot-dip galvanised steel trailers are also offered.
